Another myLot update. Hit the break the read the full alert.

With our latest release everybody on myLot now has the ability to create tasks for others to complete. This enhancement should increase the number of tasks available to our users; which we know you have been asking for.

To create a new task you first click on new tasks from the tasks area and then pick a category. From here you can click on the blue? icons for guidance to each step of the process. You will have to fund a separate task account via PayPal in order to create a task. This is for the protection of the workers who will be completing your task. If you do not have enough funds to pay for the task you create you will be asked to fund your account before you can post your task. Otherwise you can click on funds from the tasks area to view your available funds or add more funds.

To check the progress of tasks you have created, click on my tasks from the tasks area. Here you will see tasks you have created and can sort those tasks in 3 different views. You can also edit your tasks from this area and approve, return or reject a task. We will be monitoring all tasks and complaints from myLot users so make sure you have a valid reason when you reject or return a task.

There are certain types of content that are not acceptable on myLot. Examples of tasks that are unacceptable include those that are pornographic in nature, that contain inappropriate language or content, that ask users to violate a law or the property of someone else or that could cause harm to the workers or the workers property (e.g. download something that contains a virus, spyware, etc). These are just a few examples. If you question whether it is appropriate to place on myLot tasks it is probably not so do not post it.

We are sure you will have questions so we will be monitoring this discussion and answering questions related to tasks (and tasks only). If your question is related to a specific task, however, you will need to go directly to the task creator. You can do this by opening the task in question and clicking on the mail icon by the task title.

So the new enhancements were to allow any member of mylot to create a task. Hopefully, this will work out. Tell us what you think in the comments

Mylot released a new alert today informing users of the enhancements and downtime the Tasks section will experience over the next few days. It looks like myLot is bringing some changes and enhancements to the Tasks tab. Check out the picture for the full alert.

"We are getting ready to roll out a significant enhancement to myLot tasks. As part of the roll out, we have to temporarily remove tasks from myLot. This should only be for a short time so check back soon. You will not lose any task earnings you have accumulated thus far and tasks you have accepted will be available for submission or approval when tasks are once again avaliable. Sorry for any inconvenience but we believe you will love the enhancement."

Well, at least myLot does a good job of communicating with its users. I don't know about those enhancements though. myLot promised the new feature would be "fun" but many users have stayed with discussions because tasks are no fun. We shall see if myLot has learned their lesson. Stay tune for more updates! Feel free to comment in the comments or in the chatbox below.

Background Info
A discussion is like a thread or topic in a traditional forum. It lets users ask question, share their opinion on a topic, or just talk about what they did. To earn money, you need to respond or reply to these discussions. Note that respond and reply mean the same thing, and the respond can be used as a noun as "response."

There are 3 main places to get discussions to reply to.
A. Discussions My Friends Started

B. Interests

C. Daily Top Discussions

There are many more places to get discussions but I would recommend starting out with these.

How to Reply to a Discussion
1. Find a discussion you would like to respond to in one of these areas
  • discussions my friends started
  • interests
  • today's top discussions
2. Click on Respond at the end of the discussion

3. Type in your response

4. Click Preview Response to make changes or Post Response when you are done

5. Add tags

6. Optional: add interest if it asks you to

Now your response has been posted and is visible for anyone to comment on!

**Note** Remember to respond back to any comments left by the discussion starter or anyone else!

A year ago, there was a question-and-answer session between a myLot expert and myLot members in the form of a discussion. However, since it was so long ago, it has been hidden and lost in the growing pile of discussions. It has answered many popular and frequently asked questions and although the session has long ended, it still receives questions from time to time that are not answered. For anyone who wants to learn more about the "behind the scenes" of myLot or any general questions, check out this discussion! You will find it very helpful and interesting!
