There are three espcially important landmarks at myLot.
100 posts - The first one is at 100 posts and is the start of the ratings. You get star ratings and this is very controversial. People begin to wonder what that star means. It is what people rate you. There is a + and - and ! by every discussion and response, except yours of course. If people like your content, they will usually give you a + and vice versa. However, if your content is against the guidelines, then people will report it with the red ! and mylot may delete your discussion. Your star rating will increase and decrease according to how people rate you.
200 posts - This is where the fun comes in. You can now use emotions (smileys) and special effects on words such as bold, italics, and underlining.
500 posts - At 500 posts, you are granted the power to copy-and-paste. Copy-and-paste has been disabled to reduce spam. And it is very good thing too and the only reason that myLot has so many quality discussions. But now, you can copy-and-paste as much as you like, but of course, you should be responsible and read the guidelines!

One member of myLot has informed me it has always been a bug in the system.
Here is what the member had to say: "It's a bug in the system. I have a couple friends here that have trouble sending them, and a few that never receive any sent to them. It's the same with email notifications; for some it works, and for others, it doesn't. I do know one of my friends started using a different browser and her PM's started working right when she switched." - myLot user myklj999
Apparently, the fix is to switch browsers. Using Leopard, I am limited to just two browsers, Firefox and Safari. I have not yet tried this, but will let you know when I do. If you have tried it yourself, let us know in the comments. Thanks myLot user mykl99 for the helpful tip.
Many members come to myLot not for the money, but because it is a friendly community in which all members are welcome. Even though a majority of members are from the U.S. or India, there are many people from other countries that come to myLot to freely practice their English. Here is what one member from China said: "I'am the new guy in mylot.Maybe a rookie.
The most important reason i join mylot is learning my english.Of course i can earn the extra money from it at the same time.Kill two birds with one stone.Hoho.." - JummyTao
So if you need a place to freely practice your English without people mocking you or something similar, myLot will pay you to do so!
I have noticed that none of my PM's go through the first time. I have to send the same message multiple times to get it across to the recipient just once. After sending a message, it takes me back to the main myLot homepage instead of to my messages like it should. And when I go there, I see that my messages are not sending.

Looks like myLot is back up and running. I guess it was partly my slow internet connection as well. Anyway, hope you are enjoying myLot with no problems!
myLot seems to be getting a ton of traffic! The site is not responding. As you know, I am using Firefox 3.0 running Leopard (Mac OSX 10.5) so I do not know what the deal is.
Below is a screenshot.
I guess since it is the holidays and everyone is off for a vacation, a lot more people are online. This means that a lot more people are online at myLot, making the site extremely slow and unresponsive. Be careful of any posts you make and discussions you start in the next few hours (or even days.)

1. What is the minimum payout?
The minimum payout is $10.00
2. When do I receive payment?
You receive payment on or before the 15th of the month.
3. How do I receive my payment?
myLot currently pays only via Paypal.
4.When am I eligible for payment?
When you reach the minimum payout of $10.
5. Do I have to request payment?
No, you do not. Payments are all automatic.
The homepage is divided into half, the left side and the right side.
On the left side is the activities from your friends which includes:
- responses/comments they give/receive
- new friends they make
- receiving a best response
- pictures they uploaded
- started a new discussion and so on and so forth.
- Today's top discussion
- discussions from your interests (which you chose when you signed up)
- discussions from your friends (at 1st, this will be blank because you haven't made any friends yet
- discussions you started (which will also be blank if you haven't started a discussion yet)
In the top-right (below the header) corner of your Homepage you'll find the link "add content".
You can add other items like
- news,
- weather,
- discussions,
- interests,
- blogs,
- private messages
Interests are important because the discussions you will want to post in should be of interest to you. You can start by clicking the "Interests" tab at the top of any myLot page. Here, you can add interests such as:
- Favorites including
- food
- drinks
- websites
- sports
- entertainment
- music
- books
- games
- movies
- electronics
- Roles that you play in life
- Things you want to do in life,
- Things you have done in life
- Hobbies
- Places you want to see
- Places you have been to
- anything you could every dream of talking about
The more interests you add, the better chance you will have something interesting to respond to.

first name - enter your first name
last name - enter your last name
username - enter a username - choose carefully! You are stuck with this for life!
email - enter your email - mylot will send a confirmation email so make sure it is a valid email!
confirm email - enter your email again for confirmation
password - enter a password, you can change this later
confirm password - enter your password again for confirmation
birth date - choose your birthday using the drop down menus
**Note** You must be at least 16 years old to sign up!
gender - choose male or female using the drop down menu
Make sure you check the 2nd box that says "I agree..." or else you cannot sign up!

How to get started on successfully earn and make money on myLot.com!
1. Sign Up.
- Enter the correct information in each field
- Username is what your log in (nickname)
- Email is where myLot will send emails to you (needed for comfirmation)
- make sure you can remember your password!
- Enter your Paypal information
- When everything looks correct, continue onto the next step.
- Make sure to open the Welcome message in your email to verify your account.
2. Add Payment Info
- To do this make sure you have a Paypal account. If not, sign up below.
- Log in to myLot
- Click Preferences at the top
- Click on the Payment Information tab at the top
- At the bottom, fill in your Paypal information
